| After graduating from the School of Arts “École Duperré” in Paris and working as fashion designer with some of the most respected names in the French capital including Balmain, Kenzo and Alaïa, Marie-Laure Chamorel created her namesake jewelry collection in 2006.
Marie-Laure is inspired by her desire to give each piece a unique flair. She creates long necklaces and cuffs often blending embroidery and antique beads layered in sheer fabrics in the tradition of the couture houses. During a trip to the island of Bali, Marie-Laure found inspiration in the silver craft of the artisans there and began collaborating with Balinese artisans and incorporated subtle elements of tribal design into her collection. The LUXUME collection was born, a collection combining silk and sterling silver, vermeil or ruthenium. ‘MARIE-LAURE CHAMOREL’ jewelry collections represent the fusion of craftsmanship and innovative techniques. Since the debut of her collection, Marie-Laure has been featured in many fashion glossies across Europe as well as the U.S. – Elle, Jalouse, L’Officiel, Women’s Wear Daily just to name a few. All ‘MARIE-LAURE CHAMOREL’ creations are designed in Paris and handmade by French and Balinese artisans. |
